Ok, first i want to know if taking online surveys actually pay you? Second, how long are the surveys?

   There are several survey sites that are legit, your not going to get rich doing them though. Do not give anyone your SSN there are lots of sites out there that are legit and they do not need this info from you. Nor do you have to pay to join. I am a member of several. I have done survey savy which has a great referral program if you know people who will join you get money for surveys they complete also. I have also tried American Consumer Opinion. They pay by check in mail for all surveys, but I have not been able to complete many of their surveys. Pinecone is also great. You have to have an invitation to join though. They send one or two surveys a month. They are great though cause you will have a few days or a week to answer the survey if you don’t check your email religiously. Then they send a check in the mail pronto. Surveyspot has tons of really short surveys most of which you only get an entry into a drawing. However they do have many paid surveys also. You can just go to their site everyday and answer surveys you don’t have to wait for them to be emailed to you. They do some previewing of tv commercials and tv shows. I have done a couple tv shows which involved watching an hour long program (45 minutes without commercials) and answering some questions about it – with payment of $20 so that was nice.

   Most pay a few dollars per survey completed so it is best to use several. You also need to be a regular email checker because if you don’t respond to the survey fast enough they have met their quota.

   I have been doing online surveys for around a year now & in searching for a decent guide, I have FINALLY found one that offers a detailed look into legit free paid online surveys here:

   *the key is not to just sign up for one site and expect loads of riches, but to sign up for a few and have the smaller checks add up*

   *if you ever have to pull out a credit card, its not worth it*

   Market research companies have always needed to get the opinions of buyers when developing products, and whilst in the past this meant stopping people in the streets with a clipboard, now they are able to use the internet to find people who are actually willing to answer surveys. Of course, to get enough responses in a set period of time they need to offer an incentive and in most cases this means cash or shopping vouchers.

   You’re not going to earn thousands, simply by answering a few questions about your shopping habits, but $100-$200 a month is easily achievable. You won’t however earn that sum from just one company; you’ll need to join a large number of panels. The best way to do this is to visit one of the free online survey directories and work through the listings. The site I use at http://www.whichsurveys.com lists hundreds of market research companies, sorted by country, with a few paragraphs about each company. I’ve been using this site for a couple of years and have never found a company that hasn’t paid me.

   They’ve also got a good collection of articles that explain how the process works, and how to make the most of the opportunity.

   As for "how long", this is a little like asking how long is a piece of string! A survey can be a single question, or an ongoing project over a week or two or a two hour focus group. In general however, they tend to be between 15 and 30 minutes. You’ll usually be told how long a survey is likely to take when you receive the initial invitation.

   Yes legit survey sites do pay. Surveys takes from 5 minutes to 30 minutes for regular surveys, for longer focus groups usually last at least an hour but they pay more too. I suggest you go to http://www.mysurvey123.com – it’s a great site for anyone who want to learn making money with online surveys. It has free lists/directories of legitimate paid survey sites, and articles of guide and advice.

   Most online survey sites are scams. Never ever ever pay to join a survey site.

   There are legitimate survey sites out there, however you will usually only be able to make around 10-30 dollars a month per site.
